About Hypochlorous

Hypochlorous Acid (HOCl) is not chlorine or bleach. While they belong to the same chemical family, they are fundamentally different compounds with distinct structures, which determine how they behave and interact.

HOCl is a naturally occurring molecule produced by the white blood cells of humans and animals as part of the body’s immune defense, helping to neutralise harmful pathogens. In contrast, chlorine and bleach are manufactured chemicals designed for more aggressive disinfection.

Because HOCl exists within the same chemical spectrum, it may carry a mild, clean scent similar to chlorine. This is a natural characteristic of the molecule. Adding fragrances can compromise its stability and reduce its effectiveness, as HOCl performs best in its pure, unaltered form.

Our Hypochlorous Acid is generated using only purified water, high-grade salt, and electricity through advanced patented electrochemical activation. The result is a clean, stable solution that is gentle, vegan-friendly, and free from additives, alcohol, oils, dyes, or added fragrances.

No. Not all HOCl is created equal. Some production methods rely on hypochlorite (bleach), buffers, or chemical additives, which can introduce impurities and compromise the quality of the final solution. There are also “HOCl-infused” products where the active content is significantly reduced.

True HOCl performance depends on producing and maintaining a pure, stable solution without unnecessary additives that can degrade its effectiveness.

Efficacy is not defined by concentration alone. It depends on a combination of factors including purity, stability, water quality, and electrochemical properties such as oxidation-reduction potential. These elements work together to determine how effectively HOCl performs in real-world conditions.

HOCl has been studied and used for over a century, including in early medical applications. Its wider adoption has historically been limited by one key challenge: stability.

Many conventional methods produce HOCl that degrades quickly or converts into less desirable compounds. Advances in modern ECA technology have addressed this, enabling the production of stable, reliable HOCl suitable for broader, everyday and industrial use.

PPM varies depending on the product and its intended application, and we are happy to share specific details upon request.

Our HOCl is maintained within a pH range of 4.0–5.2, designed to be effective while remaining gentle on skin and supportive of the natural skin barrier. Using a proprietary process, we produce pure, stable HOCl without added buffers or unnecessary ingredients.

Our products remain stable and effective for up to 12 months. For optimal performance, we recommend using within 6 months after opening. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and UV exposure.

Most products are unscented and free from added fragrances. Selected variants, such as Protect Spray and Protect Fog, may contain eucalyptus oil. You may notice a faint, clean scent similar to a swimming pool. This is a natural characteristic of pure HOCl. If there is no scent at all, the active strength may be insufficient.

Hand & Skin

Designed for everyday use, simply spray after cleansing or throughout the day to refresh and support skin hygiene.

It is ideal for post-workout cooling, calming irritation, and helping to reduce dryness, redness, or inflammation. Gentle, non-stinging, and convenient for on-the-go use.

Yes. Our Hand & Skin range is formulated to be gentle and suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin. It is free from alcohol, oils and added fragrances. As with any new product, a patch test is recommended before regular use.

Yes. HOCl is naturally produced by the body as part of the immune system, making it generally suitable for all age groups. For individuals with known sensitivities or medical conditions, a small patch test is advised before full use.

No. Protect Spray is designed for hard, non-porous surfaces only. For skin application, please use the Hand & Skin range.

Protect Spray

A versatile, multi-purpose disinfectant for hard, non-porous surfaces, including:

  • High-touch points: handrails, switches, remotes, mobile devices
  • Household and commercial surfaces: countertops, utensils, windows, floors
  • Public and shared environments: offices, schools, gyms, restaurants, airports, hotels, and industrial facilities

It is suitable for food-contact surfaces and preparation areas without rinsing, helping to reduce odours caused by bacteria and minimise cross-contamination.

Formulated without harsh chemicals, it allows effective disinfection of high-use areas without the need for PPE or gloves.

Yes. Protect Fog is suitable for use with ultrasonic humidifiers, dry-fogging machines, electrostatic sprayers, and high-power industrial fogging systems, making it ideal for both small and large area applications.

It is ready to use, but can also be diluted depending on application needs:

  • Light strength: 1 part solution to 2 parts water (1:2)
  • Medium strength: 1 part solution to 1 part water (1:1)
  • Heavy strength: Ready to use

Do not dilute with alkaline water.

Handling & Storage

For optimal performance, we recommend using the product in its original packaging. HOCl is sensitive to material compatibility and contamination.

If transfer is necessary, ensure the container is made of high-quality plastic or glass, and is completely clean, free from oils, residues, or other chemicals.

No. Adding or mixing other substances will compromise stability and reduce effectiveness.

Products typically carry a 12 month shelf life from the date of manufacture. While some natural degradation may occur over time, the product remains effective within this period.

For best performance, use within 6 months after opening.

Store in a cool, dry place away from heat and direct sunlight, and keep the container tightly sealed when not in use. Avoid introducing foreign objects into the bottle to prevent contamination. Refrigeration is optional and can help maintain stability.
